Public feedback sought for exhibits at new Fort Monroe visitors center

So many exhibits, so many topics from which to choose, and so little time.

Fort Monroe officials seek public feedback on conceptual designs for several exhibits coming to the new Visitors and Education Center, set to open in August.

The center’s opening coincides with the 400th anniversary commemorating the arrival of the first Africans to Old Point Comfort, on the banks of the former military post in Hampton.

The center, built inside Fort Monroe’s former Coast Artillery School Library on Ingalls Road, is a legacy project for the 2019 Commemoration, American Evolution.
