The freedom of expression as guaranteed by the First Amendment has held a revered place in the heart of Americans and is the thread that binds the fabric of our democracy. American Evolution and the Youth Leadership Initiative have teamed to help bring back the skills of discourse, debate and compromise that found their way to Virginia in 1619 and are crucial to the functioning of American democracy. The First Freedom Wall emphasizes the skills of media literacy, critical thinking and effective communication.
